This camp has no pucks! Difficulty level is determined by group age and “on the spot” by instructors. It is designed to introduce and reinforce good skating habits – proper stride, acceleration and edge control – skating either forward or backwards. Most kids create poor skating habits having played just summer hockey games or simply being away from the game for several months. It is the most important of the three camps because if kids enter the season with improper skating technique they will continue to reinforce those improper skating mechanics during the season. This will really hinder future development!

Includes many of the elements in the POWERSKATING camp. Skating will always be the focus but pucks will be used on a discretionary basis during the performance of some of the skating drills to further enforce minimal upper body movement while accelerating at full speeds.

Includes many of the elements of the POWERSKATING & PUCK CONTROL camp but introduces skill drills for 1-on-1, 2-on-1, and 3-on-1 situations. The “skills” part of this camp will focus mostly on 2-on-1, tight area situations. To simplify what the game of hockey is think 2-on-1! It is a game of 2-on-1. How can a player create a quick 2-on-1 situation against the opponent? Off the boards, out of the corners, behind the net or just an initial rush…there are opportunities but the player needs to recognize when they occur and we help them do that in this clinic. Goalies and shooting will be part of this camp.

Operate one day per week for successive weeks.
